“Water and Power” features Aperture Duo and HOCKET alongside LA Signal Lab (two pianos, two fiddles, and three horns) on a set of commissioned pieces that evoke the sounds of an underwater metropolis, echoes of the Louisiana bayou, unexpected encounters with Death, old fishing melodies from northern Japan, and a nod to California pop-art. “Water and Power” was supported by the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, made possible by David and Irmgard Dobrow Fund.
